Legislation & Professionalism

Through the wide array of programs identified in this student section, Oregon Chapter ASID supports your endeavors to achieve the education and experience needed to succeed in our industry.  Our goal is to streamline and simplify passing the NCIDQ and assist you in achieving professional status.

Why should this matter to you?  As a designer, every decision you make affects the health, safety, and welfare of the public.  Passage of the NCIDQ and professional membership show that you have met all the requirements and have the skills required to protect consumers.

You should be aware of the issues surrounding your right to practice within the full scope of your abilities.  Excellent ways to stay informed include becoming a member of IDC-Oregon or participating in the Oregon Chapter Legislative Committee.

  • Student Education:
One of the most important decisions you can make in your career as an interior designer is the kind of education and training you get before you begin. Because of the growing complexity of today’s interior environments and technologies, completing a degree is becoming increasingly more important to the interior design profession.
